There is a constant tug of war inside me, wherein only one situation wins and takes precedence over the other, at least at that instant. It is a very rare feat where I can win over both the situations at hand. Getting to the point, being a content writer had kind of relegated my blogging. Blogging here at my page had taken a back seat what with the other writing opportunities that had come up before me. It was really a battle for time. I did not want to blog just for the sake of blogging or writing. I love to write and every article that I write has a lot of research that goes into it. And so, I took a conscious decision of not blogging for some time.
Chance events can sometimes open new doors. And that’s what has happened to me. As a freelance content writer, there are opportunities galore. And I have been fortunate enough to get some really good writing assignments. What started as a few writing assignments soon became a full-fledged affair. But, I am not complaining. It has given me such immense experience and great exposure, that I enjoyed/am enjoying every moment of it. I have enjoyed writing in all kinds of niche areas including product reviews, parenting, digital marketing, education, health care, home décor etc. Writing for different websites, both international and national ones is a great experience. Every day presents itself with some great opportunities that are just waiting to be held on to.
And now, I have come to a stage where I can balance out my content writing work as well as blogging. So, from now on, at regular intervals, you shall have articles and blog posts that will come up on my blog and they will certainly be an interesting read.
This little tug of war between my content writing and blogging has, in a way taught me a lot about prioritising things. Once we master this art of prioritising, I think we can definitely conquer many aspects. We are all born multi taskers. Multitasking comes very naturally to people, especially women. But, somewhere down the line, I feel prioritising and handling things well is the crux of handling situations successfully. Even while being a content writer, there were many tasks that I handled simultaneously and efficiently. But, then it boils down to what is important and handling that situation first, and not affecting the other situations.
And when I question myself, “Am I an inefficient multi tasker? Or, simply an amazing tasker who prioritises things?” Well! The answer is crystal clear – I am an amazing tasker who prioritises things, which I learnt and mastered over a period of time.
