Nurture and nourish creativity in young kids.
Did you know that young children are innately very creative? That they express their creativity in various forms?
If you did not, then it is time for you to delve deeper and understand how creative your child is / can be.
Young children, especially between the ages of 2 to 7 years, are very imaginative, expressive and creative. They love to explore things around them. As young toddlers, they are seeing everything for the first time and are constantly trying out new ways to see how a particular thing works!
We, as adults, are trained to look at things only from our perspective. But, for once, get down to the level of your child, quite literally, and see how the world looks through the eyes of your child.
From your child’s perspective, it is such a beautiful world out there, with so many things waiting to be explored, touched, smelt, tasted, and heard!! It is all their senses at play. And once these toddlers get a hang of the whole thing, and they grow up, a few years later, their creativity comes out bountiful. Having explored the surroundings and known the outcomes, they are now ready to show off their creativity.
Creativity is something that has to be nurtured at every phase in a child’s life. As parents, you always need to connect with your child. Give them the freedom to explore things around them. Be there when they are doing something new. Do not set boundaries. Do not discourage them. Help them and guide them a little! They sometimes need a small push!
You will definitely be surprised at the results!
Giving your child the “Right to Freedom of Expression” is the best way to nurture creativity. The freedom to explore and express themselves, (without being ridiculed), helps in confidence building. A confident child is more prone to expressing his creativity.
Every child is a big bundle of talent and creativity. Nurture that creativity. They will grow up to be very confident kids!
