In today’s world, these tiny objects of smart technology are seen in the hands of all age groups. Smartphones are such objects that have become a part of our daily life. These gadgets have had an evolution in their size and features as years have passed. The need of having a smartphone has spread over the growing young population as well as the aged very fast. But, as with all things, smartphones also have its share of pros and cons.
These smart gadgets are very useful and handy objects for this generation’s youth. Smartphones are one of the most intelligent creations by humans. These give access to many unreachable things in just a span of few minutes. They keep people well connected with anybody from around any corner of the world. The aged men and women now don’t have any difficulty in connecting with their loved ones.
But, smartphones have a disadvantageous effect on humans as well. Though these gadgets might seem as handy objects, they have a life-threatening effect on the health of the people as well. Smartphones radiate electromagnetic waves to connect with the satellites and towers around the world. These radiations have proven to be harmful to the health of the people. Many people also have the habit of keeping their phones under their pillows while sleeping. This can have a very negative effect on the human brain.
Keeping aside the scientific facts, smartphones have also become a means of distraction to the youth. Though it helps people to be well connected, social media has a very distracting effect on the youth which results in a decreased concentration in studies. Also, while driving cars people have become so addicted to these modern gadgets, that keeping their eyes on the road for safety is not as important as checking new posts on social media websites.
This problem must be fixed or else it will have a devastating effect. People must change a few habits and start off by placing their phones on a side table rather than under their pillows to be safe form the radiations. For children to concentrate, restrictions must be placed on usage time of smartphones. Things should be done in moderation. A little tech diet makes way for a healthy screen time. Making use of some essential smartphone features, such as the silent mode, especially while driving, helps keep a check on mobile usage while driving and also helps in decreasing the death rates of accidents.
Everything in this world has advantages and disadvantages at the same time. A boon and a bane sometimes are just the two sides of a coin. Utilizing things in such a manner that is more advantageous than disadvantageous is what makes a person smart.
