Have we become so social media conscious that we have forgotten to value what has come naturally to us? Even the phones that are manufactured are loaded with features that apply filters, even before we actually click a picture.
Looking good is nice but touching up is taking an entirely different dimension. The new young adult generation is not in a position to accept the normal norms of beauty, thanks to the many apps available to enhance the beauty of the photos.
Forget beauty, these young adults and teens do not understand the concept of natural beauty.
For them, it is just associating makeup with beauty.
They don’t understand that Natural can be beautiful too!
The make-up industry has ruined a good lot of things. When we say beautiful, it is always a person with makeup done to suit the occasion or the mood. The natural beauty that one is blessed with is completely lost under cakes and cakes of foundations.
What I am stressing here is more about being yourself – your natural self, without the add-ons of makeup, filters et al. There is beauty in everything created. We must learn to recognise that one thing and accept that particular aspect of beauty. There is nothing called perfect beauty.
Everyone has their own definition of perfect beauty. And among all kinds of beauty, I find natural beauty to be the best.
Exploring the world, you can see the diversity in beauty, across cultures and regions. And mind you, they do not have any makeup or filters put in them.
One look at women from the remotest corners of the world shows such immense natural beauty that it is simply breath-taking!
These young girls sans makeup look so fresh and very happy with themselves.
They are the best examples of “Being happy with yourself! Being you!”
You do not have to prove your beauty to anyone. By relying on makeup and phone filters, you are being someone else entirely. Someone who does not even match very closely to the original self.
I see many young teens and girls, as young as 13 years, who are so proficient in applying makeup, I am simply shocked. And their best tutorial?
Take a guess!
It is YouTube videos.
The number of videos uploaded and the number of subscribers to these channels is equally appalling. This young generation is so makeup obsessed, that they do not know what natural beauty means.
And the alarming trend in these youngsters is their lack of confidence, about their own natural beauty that they are blessed with. I have seen many teens and young adults, not wanting to post their pictures, as they are not perfect and without makeup. And among a group of friends, it is all the more worse, because, to be a part of the so – called group, they have to act cool and with makeup and have a cool fashion sense.
Let Instagram and makeup not ruin the natural beauty that you all are blessed with!
#Be Natural! #Be Happy!
